Welcome. Whether you came here on purpose or by accident, I’m delighted you found me. I write poetry and nonfiction. I do this for the same reason a painter paints or a dancer dances: I have no choice. But I know very well that you, the reader, do have a choice about how you spend your valuable time. That’s why I strive for poetry and prose that is accessible and compassionate. I value mystery in writing, but I don’t want to leave you merely puzzled. I’d rather break your heart or make you think, “Yes, that’s how it is.” Take a few minutes to read a poem or a short nonfiction piece. If you like what you read, it’s easy to order one of my three poetry chapbooks (a chapbook is shorter than a regular book, usually less than forty pages) listed on my Publications page. To order my memoir, Joliet Girl, or my full-length collection of poetry, Rain, Lilies, Luck, go to the Order Books page. |
